The 30 × 20 × 20 is a deep-sided mold built for chunky resin castings. With 20cm (8 inches) of internal depth, it’s designed for solid blocks, thick decorative slabs, sculptural pieces, and any application where standard flat molds don’t give you enough volume.
Deep Pour Resin — Managing Exothermic Heat
Deep pours are technically demanding. The more resin volume you pour at once, the more heat the curing reaction generates. In a deep mold, that heat has nowhere to escape — it builds up in the centre of the casting, which can cause yellowing, cracking, or distortion if the pour isn’t managed correctly.
The standard approach for deep pours is to work in layers — typically no more than 5–10cm per pour, depending on the resin system you’re using. The 30 × 20 × 20 is designed with this in mind. The straight sides allow each layer to bond cleanly to the previous one, and the rigid structure holds its shape through multiple pour cycles without flexing or leaking at the joints.
